Description
Ecofan®, the patented Canadian original, generates its own electricity through a special thermoelectric cell that takes advantage of the stove's heat; simply place it on the top shelf and in a few minutes the fan begins to turn independently and in proportion to the stove's surface temperature. The accelerated flow of hot air facilitates convective motion in the room allowing the improvement of thermal efficiency by up to 40%, thus it is possible to use the stove at a slowed pace with a reduction of fuel consumption by up to 20%. The geometry of the blades has been developed to ensure maximum safety for the user's fingers and hands.
HOW IT WORKS.
Ecofan fans® use thermoelectric technology to convert heat into electricity. The massive base plate assimilates heat energy from the stove while the finned upper exchanger dissipates heat by generating a considerable temperature differential. The thermoelectric cell interposed between the base and the upper exchanger causes electrons to flow from the hotter body to the less hot body generating electricity, the principle of operation is called the "Seebeck effect." When the electric motor starts turning the fan propeller, the upper heat exchanger cools down further allowing a proportional and gradual increase in the electric power and thus the fan speed so as to heat the room faster; with high flame the speed will be high, with low flame the speed will be lower.
The new DC 320 model starts operating as early as a temperature of 65° C, to reach the maximum hot air flow rate of as much as 320 mc/h when it reaches a temperature of 345° C. This means that the surface temperature of the stove, which is necessary for fan activation, can be lower than in other models, allowing the stove to heat up from the first minutes after ignition. But at the same time, at high temperatures, it gets to move large volumes of air.
The use of the Ecofan® Reduces environmental impact by promoting a decrease in particulate emissions and carbon in the atmosphere. Study carried out by the University of Waterloo - Ontario - Canada.
